Fretsore Records is a new independent record label based in west London
Its mission is to work collaboratively with well established musicians and release music to be truly proud of
We have a single goal – to reach new audiences globally for our roster
It has been Ian Sephton‘s greatest ambition to run his own label since working at EMI in 1980 and the time now seemed right for him:
“With a passion for music since 1972, and over 30 years of success working for global IT companies, I want to bring some of that proven business track record in Major Sales & Account Management and fascination with technology to develop a new proposition that allows Fretsore to punch well above its weight and attract the best.”
The label’s first release was a charity album called Music Minds which raised funds and awareness for UK charities working in support of mental health sufferers, with contributions from 50 musicians including multi-million sellers Graham Gouldman of 10cc, Nik Kershaw, Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music, and Paul Young
Through this campaign, Ian rapidly established a credibility in the music industry which has driven his desire to continue building the Fretsore Records brand and work with the talented people he admires
