Written during the 2020 lockdown “From Birmingham” is an early taste of what to expect from the act’s upcoming LP. “I imagined the story of a girl making her way through a strange place with a letter, and the idea of a lover who has to travel but promises to return is a standard folk theme.”

A contemporary twist on a folk ballad with themes of love lost, dreams unrealised and ultimate mortality, the track takes inspiration from Johnny Cash’s “The Long Black Veil”.

Written by Bob Collum, Martin Belmont on guitar, Peter Holsapple on accordion, produced by Pat Collier
